I set up yoga circle so that more people can connect with yoga and feel its benefits. I see people leave their class feeling one with the natural laws of the universe and I know they take these sensations of peace and calm home to share with their loved ones... and for me that is wonderful! It’s my little way of making the world a calmer more peaceful place to live in, It’s the ripple effect (she laughs).

Welcome to Yoga Circle

The word yoga means yoke;
to bring together, to become one.


This principle is at the heart of Yoga Circle.
The purpose of Yoga Circle is to connect people with yoga and yoga practice.

Yoga Circle was established in New Zealand in 2005 by Tonya Russell.

Tonya is an international lecturer, trainer and NLP Master coach. NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming, is a branch of psychology that models excellence and promotes quick and easy long lasting change.


Success is a skill and once you’ve mastered it you can apply it in all areas of your life. Tonya understands the importance of lifestyle balance which is what led her to set up Yoga Circle. The goal of Yoga Circle is to enhance peoples understanding of yoga and healthy living practices by connecting people with each other, so yoga circles are created everywhere.

For me yoga is an integral part of my everyday life. I simply love it! It is one of the secrets to my success, having this time out to focus only on me, my body and my breath. And for just a few moments in the day I get to experience stillness... it’s true bliss! It really is!
